Be Careful With Hazing
Look, we're not at all against the concept of hazing. We can easily see the benefits of putting a certain group of people through the same difficult tasks. It brings them together, bonds them as a unit. You know what they say about misery; it loves company.
This being said, you still need to be careful. Never take hazing too far. You've probably read all about incidents where people actually died as a result of being forced to do dangerous absurd stunts. Never take it this far. Always remember that you're not actually any better than the individual in front of you.
Hazing goals and mistakes
As we just hinted at, the purpose of hazing for most people is to make everyone feel as one. Once you've gone through the same things as others on your team or in your fraternity, there's a better chance you'll become close and be prepared to handle whatever comes your way - together. And this is an admirable cause and purpose. That's why we're not getting up on any high horse and deeming hazing to be off limits in any way.
We're simply hoping to realize the possible dangers. Don't get too far ahead of yourself and definitely don't abuse the system. You might hold some power over freshmen if you're a senior, but you also have a responsibility to follow certain rules of school safety. You can't just drive people off cliffs, okay? We hope you're paying attention to this advice.
Careful with your hazing rituals
A naked run is good, clean fun. Eating bananas out of a dirty toilet? Not as much. This doesn't exactly follow the tenants of child safety because, well, it's just disgusting. There's never any reason to take it so far. Please bear this in mind before your next event and best of luck with it.
