Safety Products
What are the most common safety products in your house? Locks on your doors and windows for home safety? A fire extinguisher and a smoke detector for fire safety? If you are a parent, you probably have more safety products (child safety products and baby safety products). On this page, we'll go over a handful of safety products. Some of them might apply to you, some might not, but it's interesting to know what's out there.
Unusual Safety Products You Might Not Know About
The safety products we mentioned above are your normal, basic, everyday safety products. But you've probably never heard of these:
- The Nap Zapper - It's happened to everyone. You're tired, and you've gotten drowsy while driving. Some people actually fall asleep while driving, only to be awakened by the blaring siren of the police car behind them or horn of an oncoming car. The Nap Zapper can prevent those scary incidents by sounding an alarm to alert you and your passengers if you fall asleep while driving. It fits over your ear and can sense when your head falls forward.
- The Cell Phone Stun Gun - Protect yourself from predators! This stun gun is designed to look like a cell phone. It can emit 180,000 volts and it has a personal alarm. It also comes with a leather case, a belt clip and a wrist strap.
- The No-Contact Jacket - This is a women's jacket that elps women defend themselves against potential attackers by giving a shock when it's touched. However, you can control who receives a shock and who doesn't with the touch of a button on the inside cuff of the jacket. A conductive layer protects the wearer from getting shocked herself.
- The Child Guard Monitor - Think of this child safety product as something similar to a GPS tracking system for your child. It's no bigger than a keychain (in fact, it is a keychain). Here's how it works: You, as the parent have a receiver, and when your child moves out of the established safety zone (3-20 feet--it's up to you) then an alarm sounds to alert the child and the parent.
A couple of these products sound a little complex, and maybe even a little "007-ish." Chances are you won't need safety training to use them though. If you find a safety product here that you're interested in, search the Internet for more information. Also, visit www.safety.com for more interesting safety products.
